Are character interactions back at Disney?

On April 18th, 2022, character meet and greets made their return but Disney informed us that more characters would start to appear later in the year. This is the first announcement we've gotten for the next round of characters joining us. I am so excited to meet all these friends and give them the biggest hugs!

That's right, real character meet and greets have returned with hugs and autographs for the guests! What is this? In fact, normal character meets came back to the Disney World theme parks on April 18, 2022, and have been going strong ever since.

Guests also can take pictures, give a quick hug or even an autograph from all of your favorite Disney characters at Disney World. On a regular day in any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks, you can expect to find the following characters: The Fab 5 (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy)

Most characters at Disney can sign autographs, but not all. Here's a list of characters you will normally find at Disney, including at character meals, and if they can sign autographs. This list will be updated when characters change at either park.

A VIP Tour Guide at Walt Disney World for 2023 runs anywhere from $450-$900 per hour per party. For slower dates (such as September), prices hover in the $400 range, while more in-demand dates (such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, etc), the price generally rises to between $700-$800.

First things first: most characters at the Disneyland Resort are currently signing autographs! Sometimes if a character is on the move they might just have time for a quick wave, and characters in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge don't typically sign autographs.

  • March 17 – April 16 (Spring Break & Easter)
  • May 26 – August 13.
  • November 17-26 (Avoid Thanksgiving Week)
  • December 15 -31 (Avoid Christmas and New Year's Weeks)
