In United Economy Plus, the drink policy varies depending on whether your flight is domestic or international. On all flights, non-alcoholic beverages like sodas, juices, and illy® coffee are complimentary. For alcoholic drinks, they are free in Economy Plus (and standard Economy) on long-haul international flights (typically those to/from Europe, Asia, and the South Pacific). This includes a selection of beer and house wines. However, on domestic flights (within the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean), beer, wine, and spirits are generally not free in Economy Plus and must be purchased using a credit card or "Tap to Pay" via the United app. The only exception for domestic alcoholic beverages is for passengers in "United Premium Plus" or the domestic First Class cabin. United occasionally updates its menu, such as the 2024 addition of "Just Enough" canned wines, but the core distinction remains based on the route's international status rather than just the Economy Plus seat upgrade.
