Are kids allowed at Disney after dark?

The Disneyland After Dark events, including Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts' Nite, are after-hours events designed for Guests of ALL ages, including infants; however, tickets will only be required for Guests three years of age or older.

Yes, children are absolutely allowed at "Disney After Dark" events, such as Disneyland After Dark or Disney After Hours at Walt Disney World. In fact, many of these events, like Star Wars Nite or the 70th Anniversary celebrations in 2026, are specifically designed to be family-friendly and inclusive of all ages. Tickets are required for all guests ages 3 and up, while children under 2 can typically enter for free. While the events run late (usually from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM), they feature character meet-and-greets, special snacks, and shorter wait times for rides that kids love. However, parents should consider the physical toll of a 1:00 AM finish on younger children; many families "rope drop" the afternoon (as the ticket usually allows entry starting at 6:00 PM) and then take a mid-day nap to prepare for the late-night fun. While there are a few "adults-focused" lounge areas, the parks themselves remain a completely open, kid-friendly environment throughout the entire "After Dark" experience.

Disneyland is great for kids over the age of 7. So if you have 4 kids, 2 of which are under 7, you may have to watch which rides you can do. For my family, this meant that my oldest two (ages 9 and 10) could ride rides together while an adult rode with the younger kids (ages 2, 4, and 6).

Bear in mind that Disneyland tickets are free for those under 3 years old. We went to Disneyland with a two-year-old Arlo, but it was just a week before his third birthday, which saved us a lot of money! Also, you don't have to prove the child is under three, so make of that what you will!
