Are there crocodiles in Indian River Lagoon?

The area is considered the northernmost range of the American crocodile, but the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says warmer temperatures and rising sea levels brought on by climate change are pushing crocs further north from their usual habitats in South Florida. The Indian River Lagoon is famous for manatees.

The species usually does not attack people as regularly as Old World crocodiles do; the estimated number of attacks is considerably smaller than those by the saltwater (C. porosus) and Nile crocodiles (C. niloticus), which are considered the most aggressive crocodilians towards humans.
