Are there mosquitoes in Lake Garda in September?

Yes they were a problem. We stayed in Riva from 1st to 15th September, couldn't see or hear the little blighters but they sure had a feast on us. I don't normally get bitten but ended up getting bitten eighteen times. My bites weren't so bad, just a bit itchy and red, which cleared up as soon as I got home.
