Are there police in Disney World?

Walt Disney World Resort takes a comprehensive approach to security across our property that includes some measures that are visible and others that are not. This includes the presence of uniformed police officers, specially trained hazard detection canines, security screening technology, bag checks and other measures.

Yes, there is a significant, yet often discreet, police presence at Walt Disney World Resort. While Disney employs a massive private security force—identifiable by their white uniforms and "Security" patches—they also partner closely with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Uniformed deputy sheriffs are frequently seen at the entrance of every theme park, near the bag check and metal detector areas, and patrolling the Disney Springs district. Behind the scenes, undercover officers also operate within the parks to monitor for illegal activity. In addition to physical patrols, Disney's security measures include specially trained hazard-detection canines, high-tech surveillance systems, and extensive bag screenings. This multi-layered approach is designed to ensure that while the "Magic" remains the focus for guests, the property is monitored by professional law enforcement at all times to deter and respond to incidents.
