The beach has a lifeguard, so be safe and do check first before venturing into the water. Getting there on foot from the airport: It is an easy 10 minute walk from the airport using Google Maps to find Alahao Street. You'll find an open pathway to the beach near some of the car rental locations.

Not sure if others know this but the best thing I liked about Whalers Village was being able to catch the shuttle for $4.00 round trip to Front Street in Lahaina. The pick up is located on the street side right next to the ABC store which is tucked way back in the corner and away from the beach.
