Yes, you will find toilets on the vast majority of trains operated by Comboios de Portugal (CP). On the high-speed Alfa Pendular and the long-distance Intercidades (Intercity) trains, the toilets are modern, well-maintained, and usually located at the end of every carriage; these trains also feature accessible toilets for passengers with reduced mobility. On the Regional and InterRegional trains, which serve smaller towns and rural areas, toilets are also standard, though they may be slightly older or more basic in design. The only major exceptions where you might not find a toilet are the short-distance Urban (suburban) trains in Lisbon and Porto, which are designed for quick commutes similar to a subway or metro system. Even on those, the stations themselves usually have facilities. For any journey lasting more than 30–40 minutes in Portugal, you can rest assured that a "WC" will be available on board.
