Are trams running from the parking lot at the Magic Kingdom?
Disney World eliminated its tram services during the COVID-19 pandemic, returning the Trams to Magic Kingdom in 2021 and Animal Kingdom in 2022. This is the first time the services will be offered at all four parks since 2020.

If you drive, the Magic Kingdom Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) parking lot opens about 2 hours before the park's official opening. Its about a 15 minute walk from the Epcot parking lot to bag check and then the gates. For AK and HS,it is more like 10 minutes. For the MK,we get there early and park up front;then take the ferry from the parking lot to the gate. That takes about 20-30 minutes and is really thrilling.
As you can guess if Monday is the busiest, Tuesday tends to be the best day of the week to go to Magic Kingdom. We also find Thursday to be one of the least busy days of the week at Magic Kingdom, with Sunday being a great weekend option.

I've had some of my favorite times at the Resort during the summer months and major holidays, but to be on the safe side, you'll want to avoid those days because there will be many families squeezing in the magic while they're out of school.
In our experience, the parking lots at the parks open at least 30 and often an hour before the park opens to the first guests (e.g. an hour before Early Entry most days). For these reasons, having a car makes it much easier to control your arrival time for rope drop at Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.
