Are umbrellas allowed at Disney?

The best way to prepare for a Walt Disney World Vacation is to expect the unexpected. And with the unpredictable weather pattern in Central Florida, you never know when you'll need your umbrella! Tina, I have some good news - umbrellas are allowed into the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

You can absolutely bring a water bottle with you into the Walt Disney World theme parks, including Magic Kingdom. The water bottle cannot be glass, but others are absolutely fine.

You Can Bring a Backpack to Disney Parks With the exception of a couple attractions, every ride at Disney will have a small pouch for you to stow your backpack, or space at your feet. Your trusty bag can take on all the adventures Disney has to offer with you!

A: Guests are allowed to bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverage items into the park for self-consumption, provided they are not in glass containers and do not require heating, reheating, processing, refrigeration or temperature control and do not have pungent odors.

Bottled water at the Walt Disney World Resort is not free, but tap water is. There are several water fountains found throughout each park, and free tap water is available at all quick service locations.

You will also be doing a lot of walking at the parks and it is important to stay hydrated. Non-alcoholic drinks and waters are totally something you can bring into Disney, it's even encouraged!

You'll be happy to know that CamelBak water packs are permitted in Disney Parks. If you need to refill your pack, complimentary cups of ice water are available at quick-service dining locations, and at stands or carts that sell fountain drinks. Just ask! You'll also notice a few water bottle filling stations.

Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24 long x 15 wide x 18 high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park. Loose or dry ice is not permitted in these containers. Re-usable ice packs are recommended.

That said, don't expect Magic Kingdom or Disney Springs to be ghost towns just because of a few rain showers. Many guests will simply take their fun inside instead by going on some dark rides, seeing a show or getting something to eat.

In general, Disney World is a 365 day a year operation. It never closes, even for rain, with basically one exception. Hurricanes. Even then it doesn't always close for hurricanes.

The fireworks are never fully cancelled if they were set by the pyro CM's, but can be severely delayed. If there's a ton of rain or very high winds then fireworks can be postponed for hours. It doesn't happen too often, but it does happen.

If you think that the day you will be in the parks is just too risky to try because of the rain, you can always try and rebook your Theme Park Reservation and change the date of your ticket. You will be able to do both from your My Disney Experience account online or your My Disney Experience app.
