Are video cameras allowed in Disneyland?

The general policy of the Disneyland Resort is to allow Photos and Video to be taken, unless directed otherwise at specific attractions. The following list will talk about Disneyland, California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the Hotels. There are a couple of basic policies that can be found at certain attractions.

Yes, personal video cameras and GoPro-style devices are fully allowed in Disneyland in 2026 for personal use. You can film most shows, parades, and even many rides, provided you do not use flash or external lighting that disrupts the experience for others. However, there are two major restrictions to keep in mind: Selfie sticks and telescoping poles are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated at the security checkpoint. Additionally, drones are not allowed anywhere on the property. If you are a professional filmmaker or influencer using "large-scale" professional equipment (like tripods larger than a small backpack or bulky stabilizing rigs), you may be stopped, as Disney requires a permit for commercial photography. For 2026 visitors, using a handheld phone or a small gimbal is the most common and "safe" way to record your memories without violating the park's "Show" standards.
