Are you not allowed to dress up in Disneyland?

Costumes may not be worn in our theme parks by Guests ages 14 or older. Masks may not be worn by any Guests ages 14 or older (unless required for medical purposes).

Whether you can dress up in Disneyland in 2026 depends entirely on your age and the specific event. For guests ages 14 and older, full costumes and masks are strictly prohibited during regular park hours. This policy exists to prevent confusion between guests and the official Disney characters roaming the park. However, adults can participate in "DisneyBounding," which involves wearing "civilian" clothing inspired by a character's color palette or style (e.g., a yellow skirt and blue top for Snow White). The big exception is during special ticketed events like the Oogie Boogie Bash or holiday parties, where adults are allowed to wear full costumes, provided they don't drag on the ground, contain sharp objects, or involve masks that fully obscure the face. Children under 14 are allowed to wear costumes year-round, making the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique a popular stop for younger royalty-in-training.
