An XL vehicle can accommodate 3 large suitcases easily. Depending on how many in your party you might be sitting with luggage at your feet. You have to remember minivans and suv's have only so much cargo space before seats have to be folded down etc.
As long as the number of people in your group is the same as or less than the capacity of the Uber car you are ordering, you do not need to let the Uber driver know how many people are in your group!
