Can bullets go through lightsabers?

In current canon, lightsabers are capable of blocking bullets and partly melting/disintegrating them but not deflecting them.

In the established Star Wars lore, traditional "slugthrowers" (firearms that shoot physical bullets) are actually a significant threat to Jedi because a lightsaber cannot "deflect" a physical bullet the same way it does a plasma bolt. When a lightsaber blade strikes a lead bullet, the extreme heat of the plasma instantly melts the metal. Instead of the projectile being reflected back, the Jedi is often showered with molten lead spray, which can cause severe burns or even pass through the blade to hit the wielder. This is why "slugthrowers" were historically used by bounty hunters and Mandalorian warriors specifically to combat Jedi. While a lightsaber "stops" the momentum of the bullet by vaporizing/melting it, it does not provide the "clean" defensive shield that it offers against blasters. In the 2026 expanded universe, this remain a classic tactical weakness for even the most skilled Force users.
