As of 2026, Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are not permitted inside Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. Disney strictly adheres to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines, which only grant access to trained service dogs (and occasionally miniature horses) that are specifically trained to perform tasks for an individual with a disability. ESAs, which provide comfort through their presence rather than performing specific tasks, are treated as pets under Disney's 2026 policy. If you are traveling with a pet or an ESA, you must use a local kennel service or stay at one of the nearby pet-friendly hotels, as pets are also not allowed in the resort's own hotels (with very few exceptions). This policy is strictly enforced at the security checkpoints to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests and the working service animals that are permitted to navigate the crowded park environments.
