Can everyone use lightning lane?

Once Genie Plus has been added to your MyDisneyExperience, you're ready to start nabbing those Lightning Lanes. The most process is the same for both types of Lightning Lanes. Access to Genie Plus Lightning Lanes begins at 7 am every morning for everyone, even visitors who are not staying on Disney World property.

To use a Lightning Lane entrance, a Guest must select an arrival window through the My Disney Experience mobile app before embarking on the attraction or experience. Some Lightning Lane entrances are offered through Disney Genie+ service. Other Lightning Lane entrances may be purchased individually (á la carte).

For those not staying at a Disney Hotel, an Individual Lighting Lane for an attraction can be purchased when that attraction's park officially opens for the day.

Is Disney Lightning Lane Worth it Conclusion. As a general rule of thumb we do find the Disney World Lightning Lane to be worth it if you can find a way to save 60 minutes per attraction at a cost of under $11.00 per attraction.

You can only buy an individual Lightning Lane for each ride once per day. So each guest gets up to two distinct individual Lightning Lanes each day. That's not per park—it's total. So if you purchase Rise of the Resistance and TRON Lightcycle / Run, you can't purchase Flight of Passage as well.

Can you have more than one Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation at a time? Yes. The Genie 120-minute rule says that you can always make a new reservation if two hours have passed since you made the last one, or two hours since park opening if you made the reservation before the park opened.

Assuming you're both on each other's Family & Friends list, you can make reservations for each other. However, you are only allowed to book one Lightning Lane reservation per person. You can't each hold multiple Lightning Lane reservations.

Know when bookings run out. As with Genie+, individual Lightning Lanes can run out of return times. Generally you'll go into your day knowing what rides you're going to book, and you'll do that ASAP. But some days you might decide to wait and see how your morning goes.

Honestly, it's not so much that there are differences between Lightning Lane and Genie+, but that one is the subset of the other. Genie+ is something that you purchase for each member of your family. It includes access to specialized photo filters and audio guides and the ability to use Lightning Lanes on most rides.

You may be out of luck for purchasing Individual Lightning Lanes for any attraction if you're staying offsite on high crowd days. Rise of the Resistance used to be the clear winner of the popularity contest here, and that doesn't hold true anymore either. At all crowd levels, Flight of Passage sells out first.
