In Marvel comic history, a battle between Hulk and Ghost Rider is almost always a stalemate because both characters possess near-infinite durability and "hacker-level" powers. Hulk has the physical strength to crush almost anything, but Ghost Rider is a supernatural entity that is largely immune to physical damage. While Hulk can "win" in the sense of knocking Ghost Rider away or temporary incapacitating his human host (like Johnny Blaze), he cannot truly kill the Spirit of Vengeance. Conversely, Ghost Rider's most powerful weapon, the Penance Stare, often fails against the Hulk because the Hulk is frequently portrayed as an innocent, "rage-filled child" rather than a malicious sinner. In many encounters, the Spirit of Vengeance simply determines that the Hulk has no "soul to burn" or is a victim himself, ending the fight in a draw.
