A waterpark is not a controlled laboratory. The iPhone is not waterproof, just water resistant (like if you got some raindrops on it, not being submerged in liquid). Water and electronics seldom mix.
There are two general types of lockers at Universal: those that charge a flat daily rate, which are located at the front of each theme park and are scattered all throughout Volcano Bay, and then those lockers that are attached to certain rides, which may or may not require payment for use.
Loose articles like cell phones, cameras, umbrellas and keys are prohibited at most attractions, and should be left with a non-rider or secured in a locker. Items that could extend out of the ride vehicle – either before or during the ride – should be properly secured before riding.
Almost every water slide, pool, and lazy (or not-so-lazy) river is fully heated to at least 80 degrees, which is what allows the water park to remain open almost every day of the year.
Volcano Bay FAQTypically Volcano Bay opens in the morning at 10AM and closes around 6PM-9PM depending on the day of the week. Universal Orlando Hotel guests can get early admission up to 1 hour prior to park opening with Early Admission. I highly suggest utilizing Early Park Admission at any of the Universal parks.
