They are like a mesh shoe with a rubber sole and a slide on the laces. We wore it on every ride without any problems. DO NOT go without watershoes if you go to Atlantis! We saw little kids crying from their feet getting so hot.

If you not stay in Atlantis i would suggest you to have at least whole day there as you may enjoy all with less hassle, provided you have enough day to visit others, otherwise half day could be on but it might be a bit hectic if you traveling with children.
Overall, we had a wonderful family vacation and it was perfect as a way to celebrate my son's birthday, as he was absolutely enamored with the water park activities. So if your main reason to visit Atlantis is to take advantage of the water park and marine life activities, then it's definitely worth a trip.
As a guest, you'll have full access to all features at the water park for no additional charge. This includes 11 swimming areas, water slides, Lazy River Rides, The Dig, Paradise Lagoon, Predator's Lagoon, all of the marine habitats and exhibits, and a long stretch of ocean beach.
You're going to need wet bags, dry bags, backpacks, beach bags — you need all the bags. Plus, some packable towels, sunscreen galore, rash guards, hats, water shoes, backup clothes and a few additional “musts” that will ensure your water park experience is smooth sailing.
We suggest you avoid swimwear with buckles, zippers or any exposed metal, as these are often not allowed. While it might seem like a suitable option, a lot of water parks don't allow wet suits, so it really is important to check before you visit to save a wasted trip if you haven't got an alternative.
