However, if you already have tickets or a Magic Key, you must wait until you have scanned into a theme park for the day to purchase the Multi Pass through the Disneyland app. Unlike Walt Disney World in Florida—which allows guests to pre-book their Lightning Lane return times days in advance—Disneyland maintains a same-day booking model. This means that even if you purchased the pass in advance with your ticket, you cannot begin selecting return windows for rides until you are physically inside the park. This system ensures a more level playing field for those who prefer to plan on the fly. It is highly recommended to purchase the pass as early as possible on the day of your visit, as it can sell out during peak attendance periods like Christmas or Spring Break.
