Can I buy tier points British Airways?

No, you can't swap your Avios for British Airways tier points, or your BA tier points for Avios. The two schemes are totally separate. Tier points are used to determine your BA status from year to year, whilst Avios is a reward currency which you can collect over multiple years to get free flights.

You cannot "buy" British Airways Tier Points in the same way you can buy Avios (miles). Tier Points are designed to represent your "loyalty through flying" and can only be earned by physically taking eligible flights marketed by British Airways or its oneworld partners. However, in 2026, there are "indirect" ways to secure them. For example, British Airways Holidays frequently runs promotions where you can earn double Tier Points on holiday packages (Flight + Hotel or Flight + Car). Additionally, high-end British Airways American Express cards may offer opportunities to earn a specific amount of Tier Points through high annual spending. While you cannot simply click a button and pay for a status upgrade, savvy travelers often use "Tier Point Runs"—booking complex, multi-stop itineraries in premium cabins—to effectively "purchase" the status through strategic flight bookings at the lowest possible cost.
