Can I leave Disneyland and come back later?

During your visit to either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, you may leave and re-enter the same park as many times as you need to throughout the day. If you would like to visit both parks in one day, you'll need a Park Hopper ticket.

Yes, you can absolutely leave Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure and return later on the same day. This is a common strategy for 2026 visitors who want to avoid the midday heat, take a nap at their hotel, or enjoy a meal at the Downtown Disney District. To re-enter, you simply use the same valid ticket or Magic Key pass that you used for your initial entry. In 2026, your "re-entry" is also tied to your mandatory Theme Park Reservation for that day; once you have scanned in for the first time, your spot is guaranteed for the remainder of the day, even if the park later reaches capacity. If you have a Park Hopper ticket, you can also switch to the other park starting at 11:00 AM (subject to availability). The old-fashioned hand-stamps have been largely retired in favor of digital ticket scanning and the "MyDisney" app, making the process seamless. Just be sure to keep your ticket or phone handy, as you will need to scan it every time you pass through the turnstiles at either park.
