Can I plug my laptop in on an Emirates flight?

I can confirm you should be able to plug your laptop directly into the international powerpoint on the emirates flights - i did it a few weeks ago. There's also a USB power point in there as well which works for phones and the like.

Yes, you can plug your laptop into the aircraft's power supply on almost all Emirates flights in 2026, as every aircraft in their fleet—including the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777—is equipped with in-seat power outlets. These are typically universal sockets that accommodate UK, US, and EU plugs. However, a major policy change took effect in October 2025: Emirates now strictly prohibits the use of portable power banks to charge devices or be charged themselves while in the cabin. This safety measure was introduced to mitigate the risk of lithium battery fires (thermal runaway). Consequently, travelers are encouraged to bring their standard wall chargers and cables to plug directly into the seat's built-in outlet. In Economy, the outlet may be shared between two seats or located near the floor, while in Business and First Class, each passenger has a dedicated multi-region power point and USB-C charging ports conveniently located within the side console or desk area.
