Can I reassign a MagicBand?

There's no way to reassign a magic band unfortunately.

In 2026, the short answer is no, you cannot reassign a MagicBand once it has been linked to a person. Disney’s policy is that a MagicBand (or MagicBand+) is "non-transferable" once it is associated with a specific Disney account and guest profile. This is because the band is used as a secure link to your park tickets, credit card for charging, and "Lightning Lane" reservations. Even if the band is deactivated from your account, it cannot be "wiped" and given to a friend or another family member to use as their primary pass. However, a supportive peer "workaround": if you have multiple bands linked to your name, you can switch between them as much as you like. If you have an old band that you don't want anymore, it can stay in your drawer as a souvenir, but it can never "belong" to anyone else. This 2026 rule is strictly enforced to prevent the resale of used bands and to maintain the security of the "My Disney Experience" ecosystem.
