Can I see Mount Rushmore with my dog?

Mount Rushmore is one of the most iconic places in America, but you won't be able to do much if you bring your dog. Pets are not allowed past the main gate to Mount Rushmore. However, they can admire the monument from afar near the parking garages or the nearby Blackberry Trail.

The park is one of the only dog-friendly attractions in the Black Hills. Leashed and well-behaved dogs are welcome in all areas except the Safari Room. You and your pup can enjoy the beautiful landscaping, check out the interesting reptiles and see most (if not all) of the shows offered at the park.

If you are traveling with your pet while visiting Devils Tower and you must leave it in your vehicle: try to park in the shade (the gravel parking lot has some spots with shade) provide proper ventilation.
