Can I take pictures at the Lincoln Memorial?

So if you want to shoot at say the Lincoln Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial, you will have to apply for two permits. Most of the popular monuments, like the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and the Tidal Basin, do require a photography permit.

Free on street parking is generally restricted to two hours (ticketing/towing enforced). Limited free day long parking is available along Ohio Drive, SW which is along the Potomac River south of the Lincoln Memorial or in Lots A, B & C south the Thomas Jefferson Memorial.

Guest to the park may visit the Lincoln Memorial 24 hours a day 7 days a week, including holidays. Rangers are on duty to answer questions from 9:30 am to 10 pm daily to provide interpretive programs, excluding December 25th.

Pictures or videos taken by the visiting public documenting their visit do not require a permit. National Mall and Memorial Parks and the other DC area National Park Service parks require a permit for all photography and filming that is not categorized as general visitor use.
