Can I transfer my United miles to Emirates?

Using miles MileagePlus members can redeem miles on Emirates flights on select routes between Dubai (DXB) and Africa, the Middle East, and the South Asian Subcontinent as part of an award reservation that includes a United flight between Newark (EWR) and Dubai (DXB) all on the same ticket.

In 2026, you cannot directly transfer United MileagePlus miles to an Emirates Skywards account. While the two airlines have a codeshare partnership, their loyalty programs do not allow a 1:1 points transfer between them. However, you can use United miles to book award flights on Emirates directly through the United website, provided there is "Partner Award" availability. This is often more valuable than a transfer would be, as it allows you to utilize United's "Excursionist Perk" or avoid high fuel surcharges. If you specifically need Skywards miles for an Emirates-only upgrade or a "Classic Reward," the only way to "transfer" into Emirates is through flexible points programs like American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, or Marriott Bonvoy. For United loyalists, the partnership is best used for earning United miles on Emirates-operated flights or booking Emirates seats using the United interface.
