Can I travel with one confirm and one waiting ticket?

Passengers with Confirmed E ticket are permitted to board the train. Their names will appear on the chart. Names of passengers with Partially Waitlisted/Confirmed/RAC will appear on the chart (including the Waitlisted passengers). They are allowed to board the train.

The answer is NO. There are two reasons why you cannot do this, especially on an international itinerary. It is a violation of the contract one of them entered into with the airline when purchasing the ticket. The ticket is issued to one person only and cannot be transferred.

Ticketing. Ticketing and booking are two separate processes. Booking just holds the seat on the plane. Ticketing means that the seat is paid for and the passenger has the right to take it during the flight.

If a train is cancelled (and that's what's happened here) you're entitled to take the next train that matches any restrictions on your ticket. So if your ticket is routed via a certain place, you must go that way, or if it's only valid on a certain train company, you must use that companies services.
