Can I use Carnival gift card to pay gratuity?

Carnival Cruises The gift card can be used toward a cruise booking, pre-purchased shore excursions or spa treatments. You can also apply it to beverage packages and gratuities.

Yes, you can use Carnival Gift Cards to pay for your onboard gratuities (now often called "Service Gratuities"). To do this in 2026, you must first apply the gift card to your Sail & Sign account, which is your onboard spending bank. You can add the gift card at a "Sail & Sign" kiosk located in the public areas of the ship or by visiting the Guest Services desk in the lobby. Once the gift card balance is applied to your account, the daily gratuity charges will be deducted from that credit balance automatically. Note that you cannot use the gift card to "set up" the account at embarkation—you still need a credit card or cash deposit on file—but once you are on board, the gift card can be used to pay off the balance, including tips, drinks, shore excursions, and specialty dining.
