How It Works

  1. At the Gate/Turnstile: Simply tap your personal contactless credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) or a digital wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.) on the purple card reader.
  2. On Buses/Trams: Tap your card on the reader when you board.

  • Fare Calculation: The system uses a pay-as-you-go model. It charges you for individual trips (€2.15 each as of 2024) but automatically caps your daily charges at the price of a daily “Mobilis” pass (€8.65 for zones 1-2). This means you’ll never pay more per day than if you had bought a day pass.
  • One Card Per Person: Crucially, you must use the same physical card or device for the entire journey and for every trip. You cannot tap one card for two people. Each traveler needs their own contactless card or device.
  • Card Compatibility: Most modern chip cards with the contactless symbol (?) from outside France work perfectly. It’s always good to inform your bank you’re traveling to France to avoid any security blocks.
