Can I use my passport for CLEAR?

You'll need to be 18 years or older to apply for Clear and must have one of the following forms of valid and unamended photo identification: A U.S. driver's license, a U.S. passport, a U.S. passport card, a U.S.-issued permanent resident card, a state issued ID, a U.S. military ID, or a Global Entry card.

Yes, you can absolutely use your valid U.S. passport to enroll in and use CLEAR. In fact, a passport is one of the preferred documents for the initial biometric enrollment process at CLEAR kiosks. While many people use their state-issued driver’s license, a passport is an excellent alternative, especially for those who have a "non-compliant" license or who simply prefer the security of a federal document. To set up your account, an ambassador will scan your passport to verify your identity before capturing your iris or fingerprint biometrics. Once your profile is created, you usually won't need to pull your passport out at the CLEAR lane; the system will identify you via your eyes or fingers. However, you should still keep your passport or a secondary ID on your person, as TSA officers may still perform a random physical ID check after you pass through the CLEAR kiosk.
