Can I visit Disney resorts without staying there?

Most areas of the resorts are available to visit, but although Disney resort hopping is allowed, typically pool hopping at Disney World is not. You will not be able to go to the pools at the Disney resorts as a non-guest because they require a room key (MagicBand or MagicBand+) from people staying at that resort.

You are absolutely allowed to visit any Walt Disney World or Disneyland resort hotel in 2026 without being a registered guest, a practice often called "Resort Hopping." This is a popular way to explore the architecture, enjoy the themed dining, or shop at the boutique stores. However, there are two major caveats: parking and pools. To park at a Disney resort without staying there, you generally need a confirmed dining reservation or a mobile food order; otherwise, security may turn you away if the lot is full. Secondly, pool access is strictly reserved for guests staying at that specific hotel, and in 2026, Disney uses MagicBand or mobile key verification to enforce this. Visiting for a meal at the Monorail resorts or seeing the animals at Animal Kingdom Lodge is highly recommended and totally free.
