Can someone use a stolen MagicBand?

First do a quick check of the surrounding area and any bags you might be carrying to make sure it's really gone. Next Deactivate the Magic Band (directions are just below). This prevents anyone from using it for any purpose. You can turn it back on later if it is found.

Your tickets will be automatically linked to your MagicBands if you have previously linked your tickets and MagicBands to your My Disney Experience account. To check on this, log on to your account and scroll down to Plans, Reservations, and Tickets Click on Tickets & Memory Maker to view your tickets below.

It's not entirely necessary. Although MagicBands can make your park experience a touch (or tap) easier and can provide some unique experiences, you can function just fine in the park without one. Typically the battery in a MagicBand will only last for around two years. If you decide to link your theme park tickets to an older MagicBand and find out that the battery is not working upon entrance to the theme parks, you can utilize your My Disney Experience.
