Can the actors touch you at Halloween Horror Nights?

Can the actors touch you at Halloween Horror Nights? Although the event makes it feel like you're walking through a nightmare, the actors at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights can't touch guests, relieving a bit of the tension.

At Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights (HHN), the general rule is that scare actors are strictly prohibited from intentionally touching or grabbing guests. This policy is designed to maintain safety and prevent altercations in the high-stress environment of a haunted house. However, while they won't grab you, the actors are trained to get "up close and personal," often coming within inches of your face or accidentally brushing against you in dark, crowded corridors. In 2026, the policy remains a "no-touch" zone for both parties: if you touch an actor, you risk immediate ejection from the park without a refund. Some specialized "extreme" haunts elsewhere in the world require waivers for physical contact, but HHN remains a "theatrical" experience where the scares are delivered through sound, lighting, and proximity rather than physical restraint.
