Can you add Genie later?

If you bought tickets from Get Away Today, you can add Genie + to your tickets. However, there are a few important things to consider. If you already have your tickets and have made theme park reservations, in order to upgrade you will need to modify your current theme park reservations.



Under the 2026 Disney Parks system, the "Genie+" branding has been replaced by the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and yes, you can definitely add this to your plans after your initial ticket purchase. Unlike the previous system where you could buy it months in advance, the 2026 rules allow guests to purchase the Multi Pass through the My Disney Experience app starting 7 days before their stay (for Disney Resort guests) or 3 days before (for all other guests). If you miss those windows, you can still purchase it on the day of your visit, provided it has not sold out for that specific park. To add it, simply open the app, navigate to the "Lightning Lane" section, and follow the prompts to "Get Lightning Lane Multi Pass." You can also purchase "Single Pass" entries for individual headliner attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind a la carte, regardless of whether you have the Multi Pass. This flexibility allows you to evaluate the park's crowd levels and weather on the day of your visit before committing to the extra expense.

Can Genie+ sell out? Yes. It can. Although it isn't common, we've seen it happen a few times during busier times of the year (like over the holidays and Spring Break).
