Can you bring backpacks in Universal Studios Orlando?

Universal Orlando does not allow guests to bring large items, such as a backpacks, camera bags or purses onto attractions. They do provide complementary single use lockers at attractions listed below.

Yes, you can bring backpacks into Universal Studios Orlando in 2026, but their use is strictly regulated on individual attractions. You are allowed to carry your backpack throughout the streets of Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk. However, for most of the "thrill" rides—such as The Incredible Hulk Coaster, VelociCoaster, and Revenge of the Mummy—you are strictly prohibited from taking any bags (or even loose items in your pockets) onto the ride. Universal provides free lockers for the duration of your ride for standard-sized backpacks at the entrance of these attractions. If you have a "large" backpack that doesn't fit in the free locker, you may have to pay a small fee for a larger locker. For 2026 visitors, the "pro-tip" is to pack light; while backpacks are allowed in the park, the constant "locker dance" can add significant time to your day. Using a small "sling bag" or high-quality cargo pockets for essentials like your phone and wallet can often help you bypass the locker requirement for some of the more moderate attractions.
