Can you bring bags on rides at Universal Studios Orlando?

All bags not secured around the waist must be stowed in lockers on these rides. Small lockers for handbags and small backpacks are free and larger lockers are available for rent/hire. Universal's lockers are quick and efficient – just scan your ticket at a kiosk and a locker will open.

Universal Studios Orlando has one of the strictest bag policies in the industry, and whether you can bring a bag depends entirely on the intensity of the ride. For gentler attractions (like Despicable Me or E.T.), you can bring small bags and backpacks onto the ride with you. However, for thrill rides and roller coasters (like VelociCoaster or The Hulk), absolutely no bags, purses, or loose items are permitted in the vehicle. To accommodate this, Universal provides complimentary lockers at the entrance of these high-intensity rides. These lockers are free for the duration of your ride time, with larger paid lockers available for oversized bags. You must pass through a metal detector for certain rides to ensure no cell phones or wallets are in your pockets. It is highly recommended to use a "soft-sided" bag that can easily fit into the standard small lockers to avoid extra fees during your day at the park.
