Can you bring food into Halloween Horror Nights?

During regular hours, Universal Studios Hollywood allows guests to bring bottled water and small snacks into the park. However, this is unfrogtunately not the case during Halloween Horror Nights. During HHN hours, no outside food or beverages are allowed inside Universal Studios Hollywood.

You can bring food and drink, no glass containers. You can enter and re-enter parks. You can walk between parks out the front entrances. You can access your locker throughout the day at no additional cost.

Most of these rides allow you to safely store items that can fit in your pocket or small fanny pack that can tuck under your shirt. However, all other large items (purses, camera bags, backpacks, etc.) must go inside the ride locker.

Here are the days we expect to have the lowest crowd levels at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023:
  • Tuesdays through Thursdays for the second half of September and the second half of October.
  • Mondays through Thursdays in November (minus the week of Thanksgiving)
  • Mondays through Thursdays during the first half of December.

Most of Universal Orlando's rides allow you to wear a fanny pack. The Incredible Hulk, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit & Velocicoaster are the only attractions that require ALL items including cellphones be put into a locker.

Loose articles like cell phones, cameras, umbrellas and keys are prohibited at most attractions, and should be left with a non-rider or secured in a locker.

Single-Time Use Lockers at Attractions Standard-sized lockers (14 in x 5.5 in x 16.9 in): for small loose articles are free while you ride. Larger lockers (12 in x 13 in x 16.9 in) for oversized items can be rented for an additional fee.

Thankfully one of the free things Universal Orlando offers is ample free water. No matter if you have a water bottle or need a cup of ice water, water is readily available.

You can walk into any restaurant or service counter that serves beverages in the park and ask them to refill your water bottle. You don't even need a bottle. Just ask for a cup of ice water and they will be happy to provide you with one.
