There are no showers on Amtrak coach seating, but there are restroom facilities on board that you can use to freshen up. I believe you have to purchase a place in a sleeping car. You can shave and freshen up in the bathroom. Haven't been on Amtrak in a long while, but when I was, this was always the case.
