The Disneyland Resort Rules currently state that any suitcase, bag, backpack, or cooler that is larger than 24 long by 15 wide by 18 high isn't allowed into the theme parks. More specifically, coolers larger than what would fit a 6-pack of soda may not be allowed into the theme parks.

You are allowed to bring an ice chest or cooler into Disney parks, but it must strictly adhere to size and content regulations. In 2026, the maximum dimensions for any bag or cooler are 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. Crucially, you cannot use loose ice or dry ice; Disney prohibited this several years ago to streamline the security screening process (as loose ice obscures the view of the bag's contents on X-ray). Instead, you must use reusable ice packs or frozen water bottles to keep your items cold. If you arrive with loose ice, security will ask you to dump it out before entering. Additionally, your cooler cannot contain any glass containers (except for small baby food jars) or alcoholic beverages. Many families find that a soft-sided, backpack-style cooler is the most efficient choice, as it fits easily under the seats on rides and meets all the size requirements. If you have a larger cooler that exceeds the limits, you can store it in the oversized lockers located just outside the park entrances for a daily fee.
