As of early 2026, the service formerly known as Genie+ has evolved into the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and yes, you can technically purchase it in the afternoon, provided it has not sold out for the day. However, doing so is generally discouraged by frequent park-goers because the system uses dynamic, date-based pricing that often peaks during the busiest afternoon hours. By the afternoon, many "Tier 1" or marquee attractions—such as Slinky Dog Dash or Peter Pan’s Flight—will likely have no remaining return times, or return times that stretch late into the evening. While the system still allows you to "stack" reservations for the night, the value proposition is significantly diminished compared to a morning purchase. If you find yourself in the park at 2:00 PM and the price is high with limited inventory, it may be more efficient to use standby lines during the evening fireworks when wait times naturally dip rather than paying for a pass with limited utility.
