There are numerous campgrounds and sites throughout the Adirondack Park that accommodate car camping. Some of these campgrounds are managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), while others are privately owned.
Where you can park your car depends on what part of the city you're in. Manhattan has less street parking but more garages, while the other boroughs of New York have mostly street parking outside of some commercial shopping areas.
Sleep under the stars! Camp overnight in our parks with our Urban Park Rangers as your hosts and guides. Pitch a tent under the stars and settle in for a night of adventure. Some of our family-friendly camping programs may feature a Ranger-led nighttime hike through the woods, storytelling, and s'mores!
