Can you catch a train from Split to Dubrovnik?

There is no train from Split to Dubrovnik.

No, you cannot catch a train from Split to Dubrovnik in 2026, as there is no railway line connecting these two coastal cities. The Croatian rail network terminates in Split, and plans to extend it further south have been largely shelved in favor of highway and maritime infrastructure. The most popular way to travel between these cities in 2026 is via a 4-hour bus ride, with dozens of daily departures from the main terminal next to the Split ferry port. Another scenic and highly recommended 2026 option is the seasonal catamaran (ferry), which takes about 4.5 to 5 hours and stops at islands like Hvar and Korcula along the way. While some "Rail Ninja" style websites may list "train tickets" for this route, they are actually selling bus transfers or multi-modal tickets. For a direct, land-based journey, the bus remains the only public transit option for the roughly 230km trip along the stunning Dalmatian coastline.
