While it is technically possible to step inside the Pompeii Archaeological Park for 60 minutes, you cannot truly "do" Pompeii in an hour. The site spans over 150 acres of excavated Roman ruins, and a walk from one major gate to another can take 20 minutes alone. In an hour, you could potentially see the Forum, the Basilica, and perhaps one nearby villa like the House of the Faun, but you would be rushing and missing approximately 95% of the city. Most experts recommend at least 3 to 4 hours to see the major highlights without feeling completely overwhelmed. If you only have one hour, you are better off focusing on a single "neighborhood" or hiring a private guide who can lead you directly to the most impactful frescoes and plaster casts, though even then, you will barely scratch the surface of this massive UNESCO World Heritage site.
