Alcohol PrintIn Central Park and all of New York City, it is illegal to drink alcoholic beverages in public places (such as parks or on streets). This also includes possession of an open container of alcohol.
Administrative Code - “Consumption of Alcohol on Streets Prohibited” ( also known as “Open Container Violation” or “Consumption of Alcohol in Public”) are eligible to plead guilty and pay a $25 fine by mail.
The vast majority of cases of crime and violence in the park occur at night. It may seem tempting to take a stroll in Central Park after dark, but it's safer to wait for the sun to come up. Generally speaking, you want to stay away from areas of the city when they are empty and deserted.
All around Central Park, you can find concession carts, which are convenient for grabbing a quick bite to eat while you sit on a park bench or walk around. Location: You can find these carts scattered throughout the park.
Noise; Sound Reproduction Devices; Musical Instruments;No person shall play or operate any sound reproduction device, as defined in § 1-02 of these rules, in any park without a permit from the Department and any other City agency or agencies with pertinent jurisdiction.
Picnic Permits & ReservationsIf you have less than 20 people, you are not required to have a permit; however, it is the only way to guarantee that your desired location will be available.
Stay on the paved roads, designated paths, and wide open spaces, and do not venture to the wooded areas such as the Rambles and North Woods. Have a plan. Even if you're wandering through parts of the park, know where your ultimate destination is so that you are wandering in the right direction.
