Can you get Jordan Pass on arrival?

This travel document can be obtained by US travelers on arrival (Jordan visa on arrival) or through an embassy or consulate of Jordan in the US (traditional visa). The Jordan Pass in not a visa, but a sightseeing tourist package that can exempt US citizens from paying the visa fee.

Technically, the Jordan Pass is designed to be purchased online before you arrive in the country, but in 2026, you can still buy it on your mobile device even as you stand in the immigration hall, provided you have a working internet connection. The primary purpose of the pass is to waive the 40 JOD (approx. $56 USD) tourist visa fee and include entry to over 40 historic sites, including Petra. To qualify for the visa fee waiver, you must purchase the pass before passing through passport control and stay in Jordan for a minimum of three nights. If you arrive at the Queen Alia International Airport without it, you can purchase it on the official website via your smartphone and show the digital PDF code to the visa officer. However, it is highly recommended to buy it at least 24 hours in advance to ensure the payment clears and the QR code is generated. If you wait until you have already paid for a standard visa at the counter, you cannot retroactively apply the Jordan Pass to get a refund for that visa fee, making the timing of the purchase critical for cost savings.
