Can you go barefoot at Typhoon Lagoon?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Footwear is not required while you splash around at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park - however I strongly recommend wearing a pair of swim shoes.

You can walk barefoot, or with shoes, sandals or flip=flops. Helpful? Most of the time Barefoot is fine. Utilized swim shoes as necessary.

You can wear water shoes or sandals to walk around the park, but for your safety you will be asked to hold them when you go on the attractions. Water shoes or sandals can catch on the slide on your way down, causing possible injury.

Guests are welcome to wear footwear throughout the park (flip flops, sandals, water socks, etc.). Guests will need to remove any type of footwear on most attractions. Outside footwear (shoes, sneakers, boots, etc.)

Crocs are great for walking and wading, but depending on the rides you enjoy at the water parks, you will likely want a tighter fitting shoe that will withstand the waves and turbulence that Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon throw at you!

The best water shoes drain quickly, dry quickly and offer the amount of traction needed for your water activities. For most people, the Nike On Deck Sandals are going to be the best water shoe because they're affordable, easy to slide on and offer enough traction to keep your feet secure on non-technical adventures.

What should I wear to a waterpark? It's best to wear a swimsuit or swim trunks to a waterpark. You can also wear a cover-up or shorts and a t-shirt over your swimsuit for added comfort.

You'll be going down water slides, body surfing waves in wave pools, and possibly chasing your young children around the kiddie areas. For this reason, avoid wearing flimsy bikinis. This helps prevent any accidental flashing incidents or the possibility of losing your bikini top or bottom on a slide or in a pool area.

You can pack breakfast, lunch and snacks as long as there is no loose ice, no glass containers, and no alcoholic beverages inside. All containers are subject to search by Cast Members. While we all love our usual snacks from home you might want to save a little room for treats right from Typhoon Lagoon itself!

If they are very flexible and very light-weight these are fine for walking along the sand or over rocks, but probably wouldn't give protection from a stone fish spine penetrating the sole.

Keep your gadget in a ziplock bag Dave says a sealable sandwich or storage bag works just as well as a $10 or $15 waterproof pouch. Not only does this provide an additional barrier against sand on the beach or dirt and mud while camping, but you can even activate your touchscreen through a ziplock bag.

You're going to need wet bags, dry bags, backpacks, beach bags — you need all the bags. Plus, some packable towels, sunscreen galore, rash guards, hats, water shoes, backup clothes and a few additional “musts” that will ensure your water park experience is smooth sailing.

A practical, well-fitting bathing suit (one piece for women; double layer swim trunks for men) UV protectant sunglasses. 50 spf or higher sunscreen. A large sunhat.
