You cannot officially "go early" for a Genie+ (Lightning Lane) reservation at Walt Disney World or Disneyland in 2026. The system is designed to be very precise; your 1-hour arrival window is strictly enforced by the scanners at the attraction entrance. Most scanners will show a "blue" light if you try to tap in more than 5 minutes before your scheduled time. However, there is a small "grace period" built into the software: typically, you can scan in up to 5 minutes early and up to 15 minutes late without needing a Cast Member's intervention. If you arrive 30 minutes early, the Cast Member will politely ask you to step aside and wait. The only exception is if a ride has been "down" during your previous window and you have been issued a "Multi-Experience Pass," which can often be used at any time. For standard Lightning Lane entries, the best strategy is to monitor the app and only approach the touchpoints when your window has officially opened to avoid clogging the entrance for other guests.
