Can you go off roading in Hawaii?

The Mauna Kea R1 Off-Road Trail is located on the Big Island of Hawaii, and it's one of the most scenic and challenging off-road trails in the state. The trail spans approximately 6 miles and takes visitors through a variety of terrain, including rocky slopes, steep inclines, and mud-filled valleys.

Hawai?i's State Park campgrounds are not set up for camping in vehicles, including campers, vans and trailers. Sleeping in vehicles in our campground parking lots is therefore not allowed.
