Can you go outside on the Galactic Starcruiser?

Can you go outdoors at all? Your time on the Halcyon is basically all indoors, except for when you visit Hollywood Studios. There's also ONE outdoor space on board — the Climate Simulator that simulates the exact climate of Batuu.

As of 2026, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is permanently closed, having taken its final voyage on September 28, 2023. During its 18 months of operation, the "Halcyon" was designed as a fully immersive, windowless "spacecraft," which meant that traditional outdoor access was extremely limited to maintain the illusion of being in deep space. However, there was a small, "Climate Simulator" courtyard on board—an outdoor, walled-in garden with fresh air and greenery designed to simulate the atmosphere of a planet—which was open to guests 24 hours a day. Additionally, the second day of the "voyage" featured a mandatory "planetary excursion" to Batuu (Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge) in Disney's Hollywood Studios, where guests were transported via a specialized windowless shuttle bus to the theme park. Since the closure, the building has remained "backstage" and is reportedly being converted into office space for Disney Imagineering. The design's lack of standard amenities like a pool or balconies made it unsuitable for a traditional hotel reopening, leaving the "Halcyon" as a unique, self-contained chapter in Disney history.
